Forum Topic: 6G Blacklist Beta

Forum: .htaccess Forum : Security • Posted by Carmelo Gonzalez • Updated:

Hello,

I suppose that the xG Blacklists are allways cumulatives, so only is necessary to install the last version.

Is correct ?

I’ve been reading all post for xG but doesn’t mention this particular. I imagine that because must be obvious. I try to identify diferences on de rules but is no easy for me.

Thanks.

Carmelo.

Good point – I should mention that with the next xG post. Yes, you are correct, the blacklists are designed to be used one per site. The reason for that is many of the rules would be redundant, and others have been removed and/or modified according to the latest data. Great question, Carmelo, thanks for bringing it to my attention.

Hi again Jeff,

I’m using the 6G beta from a couple of days ago and I’m experimenting a disorder / mismatch ‘browsing’ some ones pages of the WordPress like the login page (I could send a sreenshot if needed for you know what is me refering on).

I have been doing various tests in order to try to identify what part/section of the 6G could be related with the problem and the issue only occurs when the 6G:[QUERY STRINGS] section is present on the root .htaccess. Right now I have not installed this section of the 6G (temporally of course because this is not an option).

I don’t know what others things to do in order to can isolate the problem in more detail.

What must I do ?

Thanks in advance,

Regards,

Carmelo.

Sorry, I forget to mention in the previous message than I’ve tried to activate the logs for the modul but I have not this possibility with my current hosting provider (geting a 500 error).

Regards,

Carmelo.

Hi Carmelo,

Check out page 203 in the book, “Isolating problems in .htaccess files”, where you basically cut the code in half each time in order to isolate the cause of the issue. Let me know how it goes!
